The Background and the conflict Li-Ting is a student in DC, and her boyfriend, Jason, is working in his father’s firm. Li-Ting and her boyfriend originally planned to travel somewhere this summer. They talked about where to go. They were thinking about going to either South America or Siberia. During the discussion, Jason asked Li-Ting about when the semester would end. However, when the final decision was revealed, Li-Ting found out that her boyfriend made a travel plan without taking her condition into consideration. Jason decided to go to Moscow through the Siberian railway and he thought they need to arrive at Moscow on the 5th June 2006 so he decided to take the Siberian railway while Li-Ting would still in the middle of her exams. They had a serious discussion about this trip. Jason insists on setting off from Beijing no later than early May but Li-Ting wishes for a later departure or a change of the plan proposed by Jason. Reading_Tintin in Tibet

This time Tintin and Milou set out for adventure in search for Chang. They survived the difficult situations on their way to Tibet. They found Chang in the end. I love this little story of friendship and steadfastness. Usually Tintin is always in the big plot such as cracking the criminal plans. This time, with no criminal mind behind all these problems, is a mission of rescue. I find it courageous and purely noble. Hope I will never give up my dreams just as Tintin never gives up.

Tuesdays with Rosenau 01

This is an instance of what? James Rosenau is a very famous scholar in the international relations. I think that he is perhaps one of the most reputed professors that we have in Elliott School. Harry Harding is not at Elliott this year; he is also very famous. They are one of the reasons why I chose GWU last year. This semester I have Professor Rosenau every Tuesday, tackling the turbulence in world politics. As he explained the syllabus, every student is quite astonished because one needs to write two book assessments and 12 5-7 page papers. It means that students would literally write 14 papers and that it’s one paper per week. Although the assignment seems to be tough, there are still around 20 students who stay the following week. He is a very old professor and he is on the motorized wheel chair at the moment. He is, however, full of zeal and energy.
